Pecan Bread

Ingredients
2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup all purpose flour
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups buttermilk
1 cup chopped pecans

Directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Grease a 9"x 5" loaf pan.
Combine all the ingredients except the nuts.
Gently mix together without over beating.
Add nuts.
Put in pan.
Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour.
Test with a toothpick to see if its done.
Turn out on a cooling rack and let it cool completely.
This has a great texture and flavor.

  1. I just made this bread today. It smelled so good I couldn't even wait for it to cool before I tore off a chunk for me and Wally. I'll post a picture soon!
